This publication was produced under an Interagency Agreement between the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This publication was previously published under the title Manual for Child Health Workers in Major Disasters. The first edition, printed in1981, was written by Norman L. Farberow, Ph.D., and Norma S. Gordon, Ph.D. The second edition revises and updates the first edition. Portland Ridley served as the CMHS publications and editorial coordinator.
